UNBEATEN HEAVYWEIGHT PERVIZAJ BACK IN ACTION ON NOVEMBER 2ND

Team Sauerland’s 24-year-old heavyweight contender Albon Pervizaj (12-0, 9 KOs) returns to the ring on November 2nd in Koblenz as he faces unbeaten Bosnian Dusan Veletic (3-0-1, 2 KOs) over eight rounds at the CGM Arena.

Pervizaj is back in action following a first round stoppage of Alain Banongo in January and will look to continue his rise in the heavyweight ranks after returning from an enforced break from the sport having suffered from severe pneumonia.
“I couldn’t train or box for a long time so I can’t wait to get back in the ring,” said Pervizaj. “I am finally fit again, I’ve had a great training camp in Liechtenstein and I’m ready to fight.

“My opponent Dusan Veletic is a big fighter with an unorthodox style. He comes forward and likes to fight so it’s going to be an explosive night, that’s for sure!”

Having already beaten two undefeated boxers in Germany in just four fights, Veletic is building notoriety as a boxer capable of producing an upset, and he hopes to continue this against Pervizaj.

“I’ve already defeated two boxers in Germany who were unbeaten before and my goal is to do it again,” said Veletic. “Albon Pervizaj should not underestimate me, because I’m coming to Koblenz to knock him out!”

“We are delighted that Albon is returning to the ring after a long lay-off,” said Pervizaj’s promoter Nisse Sauerland. “I know Albon will be incredibly motivated to make a statement and his addition to the card alongside Leon Bunn and Sophie Alisch makes November 2nd even more exciting.

“The German boxing fans can look forward to a great evening, whether at the CGM Arena in Koblenz or watching live on Sport1!”

This heavyweight clash features on the undercard of the domestic dust up between Leon Bunn (14-0, 8 KOs) and Enrico Koelling (26-3, 8 KOs) as Bunn defends his IBF International Light Heavyweight title. 17-year-old Sophie Alisch is back for her fifth professional fight and she takes on World title challenger Irma Adler. Also on the undercard are local stars Slawa Spomer (8-0, 5 KOs), Hizni Altunkaya (31-3, 18 KOs) and Yasin Altunkaya (14-0, 11 KOs).

‘Fighting For Future’ on November 2nd is a special event that will see ticket revenue and money raised from the evening donated to three charities: Laughing Hearts, a charity that provides support and opportunities to children affected by poverty. Parents’ Initiative for Children with Cancer Koblenz, who provide support to the parents of children suffering from cancer in Koblenz and Education Unlimited, an education charity who encourage diversity and training across Europe.

All the action from the CGM Arena is available to watch live on Sport1 in Germany. Tickets are available online via www.eventim.dewww.adticket.de and www.westticket.de.

“I’m really looking forward to a huge event in Oslo in November,” said Melhus. “I can’t wait to get back in the ring and put on a show. I think my opponent will come and try to knock me out, but he will have a very hard day at work.”

Super featherweight southpaw Bernard Torres (9-0, 4 KO) faces Nicaraguan Yesner Talavera (15-9-1, 4 KOs). The 23-year-old from Gran was last in action on June 22nd in Spain recording a one-sided points win over Alex Mora.

“Fighting in Norway, in front of my fans with Viasat broadcasting the event is something I’m really looking forward to,” he says. “Oslo is not so far from where I live, so I hope a lot of people from my hometown are coming to support me.

“I know my opponent is a tough guy, who has been up against some good boxers, but for me, it doesn’t matter, I am ready for anyone. I just hope he comes to fight so we can put on a good show for the audience.”

With more fights set to be announced, promoter Nisse Sauerland is promising a huge event in the Norwegian capital at the historic Ekeberghallen venue.

To pull off such a great fight card couldn’t have been done without the cooperation we have with Sauerland. The best boxers fighting together under one roof. This is great news for boxing fans in Norway. The future of professional boxing looks bright.”

BAUER AND WOJCICKI RETURN TO ACTION ON NOVEMBER 9

BAUER AND WOJCICKI RETURN TO ACTION ON NOVEMBER 9

Rising Team Sauerland stars Leon Bauer (16-0-1, 9 KOs) and Patrick Wojcicki (13-0-1, 4 KOs) return to action on November 9 as both men look to further their World title ambitions with a victory at the Kuppel in Hamburg, Germany.

Bauer, the 21 year-old IBF Youth World Champion, faces German rival Toni Kraft (16-0-1, 4 KOs) in a hotly anticipated super middleweight showdown.

“I’m really looking forward to the fight and cannot wait to get back in the ring,” said Bauer. “I have many friends in Hamburg so it’s going to be a great atmosphere. We are both unbeaten so everyone can look forward to a spectacle.”

Kraft is equally excited and has implored Bauer not to find any excuses as he aims to prove he is the next German super middleweight king.

“I’m looking forward to November 9 as I want to show everyone who the upcoming champion is,” said Kraft. “These fights are what will make German boxing big again, so I hope Leon comes to fight and will not find any excuses.”

Wojcicki, the current IBF Intercontinental Champion, will meet Robert Swierzbinski (21-9-2, 3 KOs), an experienced Polish middleweight, who has previously shared the ring with current World Champion Chris Eubank Jr. and former World titleholders David Lemieux and Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam.

“I’m happy to get back in the ring,” said Wojcicki. “I am fighting an experienced operator who has faced World Champions before. It’s a good test but I want to go all the way to the top and Robert Swierzbinski will not be able to stop me!”

“I’ve already boxed three World Champions in my career,” said Swierzbinski. “I expect to have no problems with Patrick Wojcicki. I’m certain I’ll be the winner!”

Promoter Nisse Sauerland has praised both match ups, but is backing his fighters to get the wins and steal the show at the Universum event in Hamburg.

“Just one week after Leon Bunn faces Enrico Koelling for the IBF International title in Koblenz, German fight fans have another exciting grudge match to look forward to with Leon Bauer versus Toni Kraft,” says Sauerland.

“It will be a good fight but Leon is the technically superior boxer and he will do everything he can to take the decision out of the judges’ hands.

“The same applies to Patrick Wojcicki. Although he’s facing a very experienced opponent, he has big ambitions for the coming year. He’s already number 6 with the IBF and we will be aiming for the World title soon.

“Leon and Patrick are two of the future stars of German boxing and I expect them to steal the show on November 2 in Hamburg!”

All the action from Kuppel in Hamburg will be broadcast live on ZDF in Germany.

LJUNGQUIST INSPIRED BY FURY SPARRING: “I WANT TO BECOME ONE OF THE GREATS!”

LJUNGQUIST INSPIRED BY FURY SPARRING: “I WANT TO BECOME ONE OF THE GREATS!”

Danish heavyweight hope Kem Ljungquist (9-0, 5 KOs) has returned home full of ambition following a five-week training camp in Las Vegas with Tyson Fury.

Fury, who faces Sweden’s Otto Wallin at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, enlisted the help of Ljungquist, another undefeated heavyweight southpaw, as one of his chief sparring partners in preparation for Saturday’s crunch clash.

“It’s a big deal when the greatest heavyweight in the world asks you to come and spar before his fight to help him get ready,” says Ljungquist.

“It was just me and two others and Tyson treated us really well. He rented us a house and got us a car so we could drive ourselves around. I definitely don’t think it’s a regular thing to be treated so well when you’re a sparring partner.

“It was really motivating for me to be around Tyson. He was very good at complimenting me on my boxing when I had done something good, and his trainer Ben Davison too. They were both really open with me and I learnt a lot.

“I’ve never trained with a man like Tyson before. He’s definitely the best in the world in my opinion. He’s got something that not many boxers have. He’s got the size, he’s very strong and durable, but he also moves very well, and it’s not often you have that in heavyweights. He’s also very strong mentally.

“He seems like he really has it together right now, and is really on top of his game. It’s great to be sparring him when he’s at this level because it’s very good for my game, and I can see what I have to work on to get to that stage.”

The 29 year-old, who has enjoyed a fine start to his professional career, most recently outpointing Spanish Champion Gabriel Enguema, admits he has been inspired by his Vegas experience and is eager to follow in the footsteps of Fury to become a future star of the heavyweight division.

“I want to become one of the greats,” he says. “I know I’ll have to start from the bottom and work my way up, but I’m just so motivated. I’m ready for whatever and I can’t wait to fight again. I want to prove to people that I’m serious. I’m not here for fun. I want to be the best and I’m not settling for anything less.”

Having also previously sparred Fury’s opponent Wallin, Ljungquist is uniquely placed to offer his prediction on Saturday’s heavyweight showdown.

“I don’t give Otto much of a chance,” he says. “I think Tyson’s experience and movement will work in his favour, but anyone can surprise you in boxing!”

UNBEATEN BALL: “I’M COMING TO NORWAY TO WIN”

“For me, boxing was natural progression from my kickboxing career,” she says. “There wasn’t anything left for me to achieve in the sport, and I wanted a new challenge. I had two K1 fights after I won my last world title, I enjoyed it, but the plan was to go in to boxing, and the time was right when I turned pro in 2017.

UNBEATEN BALL: “I’M COMING TO NORWAY TO WIN”

Rachel Ball (4-0) is relishing the opportunity to put her unbeaten record on the line against former European and WBC International Champion Katharina Thanderz (10-0, 2 KOs) as they provide chief support for Kai Robin Havnaa’s IBO International title fight with Rad Rashid on March 2 in Arendal.

Ball is a former three-time world kickboxing champion, who having switched disciplines is undefeated in her four professional contests. Her last bout, a bloody battle with Eftychia Kathopouli, was named ‘Fight Of Year’ by the British Boxing Board of Control Midlands Area, and the 27 year-old is promising another ‘war’ as she travels the North Sea to take on the undefeated Thanderz.

“I’m coming to Norway to win and that’s the only outcome I envision in my mind. If I thought any differently, I wouldn’t bother stepping in the ring,” says Ball. “I don’t make predictions on points, stoppages or TKOs, but what I do predict is an excellent showcase for women’s boxing, a brilliant fight, and a war too!

“I might look friendly but put me in a ring and I’m a different person. I’m an exciting fighter. There’s no other fighter out there who looks like me. I stand out in appearance and in the way I fight. This will be a fight you don’t want to miss!

“Thanderz has a good record. She’s fought for two titles, so she’s experienced in fighting over longer rounds. I’ve watched her fights. She’s a tough girl, and it’s going to be a great fight for women’s boxing and for the fans. Everyone at home is excited for me to fight someone as credible as Thanderz. This as a big opportunity for my career, and I’m excited to fight her.”

Having claimed multiple World titles as a kickboxer, Balls hopes to emulate this success as boxer, drawing on her past experience to fight her way to the top.

“I maintain that kickboxers are tough, getting punched in the face is one thing but getting kicked in the face is another. It’s great being a multiple world champion. I’ve had a lot of title fights and gone a lot of rounds, which is great experience to bring into my boxing career, but with that said, I’m a completely different now from my kickboxing days, and from the fights I’ve had since.”

Kai Robin Havnaa tops the bill at the SØR Amfi in Arendal with a historic IBO International Cruiserweight title fight against Rad ‘Thunder’ Rashid.

Katharina Thanderz provides chief support with a super featherweight contest against Rachel Ball, Hadi Srour is back in the professional ring to meet Zoltan Szabo, and Kristiansand’s Jamshid Nazari takes on Ivica Gogosevic.

HISTORIC TITLE FIGHT CONFIRMED FOR HAVNAA

“When I started boxing, it was a dream, and now, after many years of hard work, I’m finally here, ready to fight for a title with one of the big boxing organisations, and to do it in front of my home crowd, makes it even more special!”

HISTORIC TITLE FIGHT CONFIRMED FOR HAVNAA

Kai Robin Havnaa (13-0, 11 KOs) has the chance to write his name into the history books with the IBO International Cruiserweight title now confirmed for his clash with Rad ‘Thunder’ Rashid (16-4, 13 KOs) on March 2 in Arendal.

Havnaa’s historic title fight will be the first time in over 40 years that a male boxer has fought for an international title on Norwegian soil following Harald Skog’s unsuccessful attempt at Victor Galindez’s WBA World Light Heavyweight title at the Ekeberg Hall in Oslo on March 28, 1976.

The IBO belt will give added significance to an already huge night for the Norwegian star as he looks establish himself on the World stage and move a step closer to achieving his ultimate aim of becoming World Champion.

“This is a massive opportunity for me,” said Havnaa. “I would like to thank my promoter Nisse Sauerland for making this possible. I’ve never been so excited about a fight in my life. This makes everything bigger. To have the national anthems and everything else that comes with a title fight, it’s amazing!

“This is going to be a huge milestone in my career. When I started boxing, it was a dream, and now, after many years of hard work, I’m finally here, ready to fight for a title with one of the big boxing organisations, and to do it in front of my home crowd, makes it even more special!

“My motivation for this fight has always been high because I have such a tough opponent, but now there’s a title on the line, it makes it even more important. I need to make sure I’ve trained right and I’m in my best possible shape.

“It would mean everything for me to win and to raise the belt over my head in front of my supporters. I really mean it went I say that everyone who’s there supporting me will have a piece of this belt because without them none of this would be possible. Without them, we wouldn’t be having a big Team Sauerland show in Arendal and I wouldn’t have this chance to fight for my first title.”

Promoter Nisse Sauerland says he is delighted to be bringing this historic fight to Arendal, and believes it could be ‘the start of something special’ for Havnaa.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for Kai,” said Sauerland. “To get the chance to fight for his first major title in front of his home fans is something special. It is sure to bring more excitement to the SØR Amfi. I hope everyone in Arendal gets behind their hometown hero and cheers him to victory on March 2.

“Winning this belt will open a lot of doors for Kai. He can’t take it for granted as Rashid is a dangerous opponent with his own title aspirations, but if he wins, this could be the start of something special for Kai, and for Norwegian boxing.”
