NAZARI: “I WANT TO BE A ROLE MODEL FOR THE AFGHAN AND NORWEGIAN YOUTH”

Jamshid Nazari (3-0, 1 KO) continues his promising career on March 2 with a six-round welterweight clash against Ivica Gogosevic (12-24-2, 5 KOs) on the undercard of Kai Robin Havnaa’s cruiserweight showdown with Rad Rashid.

Nazari is the latest addition to an action-packed show in Arendal, and following victories over Bakar Gelenidze, Nika Nalikashvili and Richard Walter, the Kristiansand-boxer says he is excited to be fighting so close to home.

“I’m looking forward to putting on a great show on March 2 at the SØR Amfi in Arendal,” said Nazari. “Ivica Gogosevic is a strong, experienced opponent, who I’m sure is going to give me a good fight.

“Fighting in Arendal will be like fighting at home. It will be my first time fighting so close to home, so I’m expecting to have a lot of fans coming to support me.”

Although only 26 years old, Nazari has already experienced a lot in life. At the age of 14, he was forced to flee his native Afghanistan after both parents were killed, eventually arriving in Norway, where he discovered his talent for boxing.

When asked what he hopes to achieve in his professional boxing career, the talented fighter does not mention World titles, money or fame, rather he responds: “I want to be a role model for the Afghan & Norwegian youth.”

Kai Robin Havnaa returns to the SØR Amfi in Arendal on March 2 to headline his hometown arena in his toughest career test against Rad Rashid.

Katharina Thanderz provides chief support with a super featherweight clash against unbeaten Brit Rachel Ball, Hadi Srour meets Zoltan Szabo, Anders Eggan faces Frane Radnic and Jamshid Nazari takes on Ivica Gogosevic.

Unbeaten Cruiserweight Shokran Parwani faces stiffest test

In a time where the arrival of summer no longer means that boxing goes on hiatus, fans of the sport will get a chance to witness some quality match-ups when two interesting World Boxing Federation (WBF) Championship fights headline a show in Essen, Germany on Saturday August 5.

Unbeaten Cruiserweight talent Shokran Parwani, a heavy-handed Southpaw born in Afghanistan but based and fighting out of Hamburg, will be facing his stiffest test to date when he takes on Frank Bluemle for the vacant WBF International title.

Parwani (25) has only been a pro for little over a year, and put together a record of 7-0 (6) leading up to what will be his first title fight. Neumuenster´s Bluemle (32), a pro for twelve years including a break between 2006 and 2012, is 14-2-2 (9) and has two failed title-challenges on his resume.

In the second WBF title fight on the card, reigning Womens Intercontinental Strawweight Champion Oezlem “BoxLady” Sahin makes her first title-defense against French Champion Sandy Coget. Both ladies are considered among the very best in their weight class in Europe, if not the world.

Sahin, who brings a lot of experience along with her 22-1-1 (7) record, must be considered a favourite to retain her crown, but Coget, 8-6-1 (0), having twice challenged for European titles and only lost after very good efforts, is by no means a clear underdog.

The two WBF title fights will be preceded by a full undercard, including a third championship bout for the German International Lightweight title.
