7 NEW FIGHTS CONFIRMED FOR IRISH RETURN

The CW110 card is stacking up, with opponents now confirmed for Ireland’s Ian Garry, Decky McAleenan and more.

Cage Warriors’ long-awaited return to Ireland is less than a month away.

On November 9th, many of Ireland’s hottest rising stars head to the Cork Neptune Stadium for an electric night of fights in the Rebel County.

A new list of signed bouts includes an exciting lightweight clash between Irish prospect Ian Garry and Poland’s Mateusz Figlak. Both men are undefeated in their first 2 professional fights, and head to CW110 fresh off the back of first-round finishes in their last outings.

Garry trains under the guidance of two former Cage Warriors champions in Chris Fields and Cathal Pendred, and promises another unforgettable performance on November 9th.

Also just confirmed on the card is Irishman Decky McAleenan, who splits his fight camps between Newry and California, where he trains alongside UFC legend Urijah Faber. He’ll take on Jared Southwell of Wrexham, Wales.

A number of Cork natives will walk out for the home crowd, including John Mitchell and Jack Maguire, both making their Cage Warriors debuts against travelling opposition.

In the CW110 main event, top Northern Irish name Rhys ‘Skeletor’ McKee welcomes Norwegian challenger Håkon Foss to the Emerald Isle in what promises to be a headline fight to remember.

Cork native and Cage Warriors President Graham Boylan has confirmed that he has big plans for his promotion’s return to Ireland, and is set to play an integral role in developing the sport once again.

“Our mission hasn’t changed,” says Boylan. “We’re coming back to offer the top talent in Ireland a chance to shine and showcase their skills to the world.”

Cage Warriors have confirmed seven new names for their highly anticipated return to the Cork Neptune Stadium on November 9th, including top Welterweight contender Rhys McKee.

Cage Warriors are returning to the Emerald Isle with a vengeance!

Joining them at the top of the bill is Northern Irish sensation Rhys ‘Skeletor’ McKee, who has stormed into the Cage Warriors ranks with back-to-back wins against Jefferson George and Perry Goodwin.

This will be McKee’s first move to Welterweight since joining the promotion.

“I am delighted that Cage Warriors are coming back to Ireland,” said McKee. “Every time the show has been here it has never disappointed, and this one will be no different.

“I will put on an emphatic display and leave Cork with a solid finish.”

Other Irish prospects on the card include Ian Garry and Joe McColgan, who both impressed with stunning performances at Cage Warriors Unplugged 2 last weekend.

Garry picked up a highlight-reel headkick finish to take him to 2-0, and McColgan fought to a draw with Mehdi Ben Lahkdar in an early contender for Cage Warriors’ fight of the year.

Cage Warriors veteran Darren O’Gorman will also return to Cork, in what will be his first home city fight in five years.

In further breaking news, Cage Warriors President Graham Boylan has confirmed that three new names have been signed to multi-fight deals which will begin on November 9th.

They are fighting brothers Jack and Arann Maguire, and accomplished youngster John Mitchell, who is currently the 2nd ranked Amateur Lightweight in the UK & Ireland.

Jack Maguire and John Mitchell will make their pro debuts in the yellow gloves, and Arann Maguire joins the Cage Warriors roster with a pro record of 3-1. All are Cork natives stepping up in their home territory with the city’s support behind them.

CW101 full fight card and broadcast details

Cage Warriors 101 fight week has begun. This Saturday February 16th, Europe’s leading MMA promotion kick off what promises to be a massive 2019 with their first show of the year at Liverpool’s Exhibition Centre.

A brand new Cage Warriors venue will host ten professional fights this weekend for Liverpool fight fans, with a heavyweight clash between Tom Aspinall and Sofiane Boukichou topping the bill.

Aspinall is fast becoming one of the most talked-about heavyweight fighters on the North West scene, having finished every one of his professional wins within the distance. He’s a long-time training partner of UFC Welterweight contender Darren Till, and a former sparring partner of unbeaten British boxing superstar Tyson Fury.

He faces a stern test in the more experienced Frenchman Boukichou, who is currently riding a four-fight win streak and finished his last two Cage Warriors fights with both knockout and submission.

Also on the main card in a fight that’s sure to have the Liverpool crowd on it’s feet, two local fighters meet in a Merseyside Derby when Adam Ventre takes on Tim Barnett. Ventre has had great success in his recent bouts in the Cage Warriors Academy North West, picking up 3 back-to-back finish wins to take his record to 7-3. He’s yet another prospect fighting out of Next Generation MMA, home of former Cage Warriors champions (and now UFC stars) Molly McCann and Chris Fishgold, both of which will be meeting fans alongside UFC legend Dan Hardy and Octagon Girl Edith Labelle at the CW101 Meet and Greet from 8.20PM.

Tim Barnett, who trains out of Liverpool’s MMA Academy, has established himself as one of Europe’s most exciting strikers and is looking to get back to winning ways after a loss to Alex Lohoré at CW100.

Other Liverpool names on the card include former middleweight title challenger Mick Stanton and bantamweight prospect Bryan Creighton, who makes his first Cage Warriors Liverpool appearance in six years.

And that’s not all. Before the CW101 pro card, a seven-fight Cage Warriors Academy North West card will showcase the top amateur talent from Liverpool and across Europe from 5PM.

Doors at the Exhibition Centre open at 4.30PM. The last remaining CW101 tickets are available HERE.

CAGE WARRIORS BIGGEST EVENT OF ALL TIME: TWO WORLDS ONE GOAL

This Saturday, Europe’s leading MMA promotion will stage their biggest event of all time at the Viola Arena in Cardiff, topped by a bantamweight world title fight between unbeaten super-prospects Jack Shore and Mike Ekundayo.

16 years of history. 99 numbered events staged across 3 continents. Almost 100 fighters sent to the UFC, including some of the sport’s biggest names – Conor McGregor, Michael Bisping, Dan Hardy, Joanna Jedrzejczyk… the list goes on.

Now it’s time for Cage Warriors to make history with the mammoth CW100 – their most impressive card to date.

Europe’s top bantamweight will be decided in the main event when undefeated stars Jack Shore and Mike Ekundayo go head-to-head for the title. Local hero Shore will have the packed-out Viola Arena behind him, but Ekundayo has promised to deliver an unforgettable performance to steal the away win. It’s one of the most closely contested fights in the promotion’s history – and too close to call for fans and critics alike. Only one man can be crowned champion!

In the co-main, Aiden Lee and Dean Truman fight for the featherweight title previously held by former champions Conor McGregor and Paddy Pimblett. After battling their way to the title shot in Cage Warriors’ featherweight tournament just months ago, it’s time for Lee and Trueman to meet in the biggest moment of their careers to date.

Elsewhere on the card, UFC vet and ex-CW champion Nicolas Dalby takes on Ireland’s Phil Mulpeter in the welterweight division, with both men fighting off the back of big finish wins earlier in the year.

Expect two striking masterclasses in Alex Lohoré vs Tim Barnett and Jai Herbert vs Joe McColgan, and a potential sleeper pick for fight of the night when Håkon Foss takes on Welshman Aaron Khalid.

Top UK prospect Rhys McKee makes his Cage Warriors debut against Jefferson George in the lightweight division, and it’s Wales vs Scotland when former bantamweight title challenger Josh Reed meets Scott Malone.

“This card is a historic night not only for the promotion but for the sport in Europe,” says Cage Warriors President Graham Boylan. “There’s fights lower down this card that could have made the main event on any other show – you won’t find a better display of European MMA than this.”

And that’s not all. Before the CW100 pro card, the Cage Warriors Academy Grand Prix finals will see Europe’s top amateur talent compete for a pro contract, after fighting their way through the quarter and semi finals throughout 2018. It’s all to fight for.

CW100 tickets are still available HERE. Doors at the Viola Arena open at 3PM. As well as a non-stop night of fight action, fans have the opportunity to meet UFC legend Dan Hardy, former CW champs and now Welsh UFC names Brett Johns and Jack Marshman, and CW Octagon Girl Edith Labelle at the CW100 Meet and Greet.

James Webb scores hometown KO – official results CW99

Colchester’s own James Webb registered the biggest win of his career in the main event of Cage Warriors 99 at the city’s Charter Hall venue on Saturday, November 17.

Webb came into the bout on a run of three consecutive rear-naked choke submission victories, but he showcased striking power against a noted knockout artist as he stunned Jason Radcliffe with a left hook that upset the Londoner’s equilibrium and forced him to the canvas.

Webb moved in to finish the fight and referee Rich Mitchell called a halt to the action at the 1:26 mark as Webb positioned himself for a possible run at the middleweight title in 2019.

In the night’s co-main event, “Capcom” Cory Tait made a winning return to Cage Warriors with a crushing body-shot TKO of Gavin Kelly in their bantamweight contest.

Tait’s last appearance in Cage Warriors came back in 2014 and the man known for his spectacular strikes went back to basics for his attention-grabbing finish, as he landed a perfectly-placed body shot to secure a first-round TKO finish.

Danish featherweight Mads Burnell was cracked hard by a powerful uppercut from Lukasz Rajewski early in their bout, but the submission ace showed great powers of recovery before taking over and finishing his opponent via rear-naked choke submission.

“Mr. Bag and Tag” Nathan Jones battled all the way to the scorecards with Cage Warriors veteran Brad Wheeler in their welterweight contest as he ran out a unanimous decision victor.

And in the opening bout of the night “Young Gun” Jamie Richardson survived a heel-hook attempt from Phil Wells before turning the tables and finishing his opponent with elbows for an impressive first-round TKO win.

Next up for Cage Warriors, we travel to Cardiff for our centenary show, Cage Warriors 100 on Saturday, December 8. Check out our website cagewarriors.com for all the info you need ahead of a special night at the Ice Arena next month.
